In short A-bombs use nuclear fission, H-bombs use nuclear fusion.

An atom bomb is more commonly a reference to fission bombs which release energy through nuclear fission. Fission is the the chain reaction in which unstable nuclei such as in uranium break down when hit by a neutron (from another breaking down nucleus)

Hydrogen bombs on the hand use nuclear fussion is which two hydrogen nuclei are forced together to form helium and release energy. This is the reaction that occurs in stars and it more powerful.

H-bombs as a result of their fuel are "cleaner" as they release energy but less nuclear fallout (radiactive material left over)

Is hydrogen a substance made up of one kind of atom?

Yes and no. There are 3 isotopes of hydrogen. All are hydrogen but each is different because they have different weights because they have different numbers of neutrons. Hydrogen is an element and it is defined by the number of protons so, in that respect, all hydrogen is the same because all hydrogen has a single proton.

How is the nucleus of the hydrogen atom different from the nucleus helium atom?

The nucleus of hydrogen has 1 proton, whereas that of helium has 2 protons.

How is the nucleus of hydrogen atom different from the nucleus of the helium atom?

The nucleus of hydrogen has 1 proton, whereas that of helium has 2 protons.

How hydrogen atom is different from all other elements?

The hydrogen atom has no neutrons in the nucleus. There is just a proton and an electron.

How many hydrogen atoms could become a single carbon atom?

Its impossible. The carbon and hydrogen are 2 different elements, they are 2 different atoms. If hydrogen atoms connect that's going to become a hydrogen molecule. And carbon is an atom, not a molecule.

How is hydrogen atom and radium atom different for each other?

Hydrogen atom has 1 proton and 1 electron; radium has 88 protons and electrons. Also radium is radioactive.

Which is the smallest atom?

The smallest atom is hydrogen.

How many different elements and atoms are in a water molecule?

There are two different elements in a water molecule. Its composed of 2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. H_2O

What is the difference between a hydrogen atom and atomic hydrogen?

The difference between a hydrogen atom and atomic hydrogen is that the "hydrogen atom" represents one atom of the chemical element hydrogen. Atomic hydrogen are isolated hydrogen atoms.

How many electrons are hee in an atom?

The will depend on the type of atom. The number is different for an atom of hydrogen, lead, gold, fluorine, etc.

What is different between molecule and atom?

Atom is the basic unit of any element. Molecule is an assembly of different atoms. Hydrogen is an atom. Oxygen is an atom. Two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom electrically bonded to each other are water - a molecule.

What element in the universe has the smallest atom?

the atom with the least mass is the hydrogen atom
