My dryer doesn't smell
It's possible the burner is heating trapped water. What do your clothes smell like after they are dried? If they smell bad, chances are you'll need to have the dryer services, cleaned and reassembled.
It is either unburned propane, before it ignites, or it is just dust and or lint burning off.
This may be related to the oils used on some parts of the inner mechanisms of the dryer. When heated, the oils could smell slightly similar to the smell of a gas dryer. Or, your dryer could be pulling in odors (car exhaust fumes, outdoor cooking grills, etc.) from outside through the venting system.
You will probably smell the hair burning and some of your hair will be missing. The dryer will be okay if it is just a little hair that got sucked into it. Let it cool down.
Well i don't. I think the real question is why do yousmell burning feathers. I can't even imagine what burning feathers smell like.It smells terrible, I regularly smell burning feathers, paint, and a strong perfume or potpourri that nobody else around me can smell.
The belt is burning up and wind is pushing the smell through the air conditioning.
It will be sulfur mostly that you smell
