TRY CHECKING THE HORN RELAY . ALSO TIES INTO OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. IF STARTING AND THE OIL PRESSURE GUAGE WORKS IT GENERALLY MEANS THE RELAY IS GOOD. I HAVE FRIED THE IGNITION MODULE IN THE DISTRIBUTOR.WHEN JUMPING DONT GROUND TO THE BATTERY.GROUND TO THE ENGINE AT A GOOD METAL POINT.
94 Buick Lesabre replaced battery and alternator and the alternator is not charging the battery. Battery light is on and off. Is this fusable link. If so where is it located
IF the fusible link has "fused" [opened up, melted apart] it will not keep the alternator from working, BUT it will prevent the battery from receiving the charge.
Near the battery or on the back of the alternator
Check your ignition fuse, its in the fuse box, also, your fusible link could be burnt or melted, its connected to your positive battery cable,if burnt or melted, then its your problem.
Check the fusible link coming off of the battery.
The fuse between the battery and alternator is a fusible link in the small wire that hooks up to the battery terminal along with the regular battery cable. It looks like a thick spot in the wiring. To replace, the cable must be replaced. .
Connected to the solenoid. It is the single chord connected to the bottom terminal of the solenoid and is connected to the chord coming from the alternator. A blown fusible link will cause typical bad alternator symptoms and not allow the battery to be charged by the alternator.
There is not a fusible link between the alternator and starter. There is a regulator on the alternator. The starter is directly connected to the battery, as is the alternator.
Some 1990s had a fusible link. I am not aware of any with a fuse. The fusible link is between the alternator and the battery, connected with heavy wire. Kind of easy to miss. http://www.marksatterfield.com
Check for blown fuse(s) or blown fusible link(s).
trace back the + wire from the alternator to the fuse panel in front of the battery
The fusible links on a 1995 Explorer are located on the side of the alternator. Follow the red power wire from the battery to the fuse links.
