I have done it. I went to a real estate agent who acted as my buyer's agent. I told her I didn't want the owner to know who I was. I told her what my maximum offer was and she took over from there. Everything went very well. The owners only found out who had bought their house at the closing, and since the owners lived out of state, I never even met them.
