Western Russia covers a smaller land area compared to eastern Russia. Western Russia includes regions like Moscow and St. Petersburg and extends westward towards Europe. Eastern Russia encompasses vast areas like Siberia and the Russian Far East, making up a significant portion of the country's landmass.
The northern hemisphere contains most of the land area of the planet, more than either the eastern or western halves of the globe. The eastern would contain only 60% as much land area as the northern, the western even less.

Russia has the largest expanse of tundra. The Arctic tundra covers much of northern Russia, particularly in Siberia and the far east regions.
The mountain range that covers much of the eastern U.S. is the Appalachian Mountains.
