I have the same issue with my 1995 Camero. I acidently lost the chipped key just months after forking over $360 freakin bucks to change the stupid ignition. Now what do I do now? I have the skelton keys to the ignition and doors. but that wont start the car. Any help please I cant afford another ingition.. :(

had that problem on my 92 and my 95. both times it was that VATS system. had to replace the tumbler. is the security light on? That was him, this is me. I had same problem in my '90 RS. Start/not start/Start. Check for loose battery terminals. While you are at it, make 'em clean. Note that IF VATS system is kaput you can bypass VATS with a little clever rewiring behind driver side kick panel.
