It's not a good idea. His little teeth will have trouble chewing it because they are softer than an adult, and it may upset his stomach, so you may have to deal with a vomiting puppy. I suggest sticking with puppy food until at least 6 months old.
yes, you can feed him adult food, however i was told with my boxer who is 10months old that it really all depends on theyre weight, the puppy food has more proteints and vitamins that help them grow and stay at a healthy weight for puppys.. My vet told me that since hes almost 100 lbs then it would be ok to switch since his weight is consistant and since hes only 10months and 95-100 lbs then he is more than healthy and ready to switch, most vets say to wait until they are a 1year old, to switch but if they are holding their weight and you can see that they are growing then you can switch. but when you switch from one food to another make sure its over a period of time, not just with boxers but all breads, they will get sick, and have diharea if its a quick switch over.. Mix the puppy dog food with a little bit of adult food, for a few days, elimitating the puppy food and adding more adult food over a period of like 10days, that way it will give their stomachs a chance to adapt to the new food. lessen the puppy food everytime u give them food and add more adult food until they get to the point where your not giving them anymore puppy and its all adult.. for example 1 cup puppy 1/3 adult, 2nd day 1 cup puppy, 1/4 adult and so on over at least 5 days after the first 5 days and youve gotten to at least a 1/2 cup of adult food, the next 5 days you will need to start eliminating the puppy food just as u did with adding the adult food.. (hope that makes sense) boxers are prone to stomach and intestinal issues so changing things such as food needs to be done only on a gradual basis.. I hope that helps a little, and if u do have questions either ask your local vet or even easier you can stop by your local petsmart or petco and ask one of the dog techs they will be able to let you know with the weight of your dog if its the right time or if you need to wait until they are older..
Since a boxer is a larger breed of dog, he may still be growing up till 18 months. This would be a good time to switch from puppy food to adult food. Most of his growing will probably be finished by this time.
At that age you can start him on adult dog food.
A month old puppy is not weined yet. He still needs his mothers milk.
yes, they are able to have bones.i used to feed my boxer bones at 4 months and he is just fine.
No feed 4 to 5 times a day.
You should feed your 6 month puppy a good, high quality puppy food until it is one year of age. I would suggest Purina Puppy Chow or Science Diet Puppy food.
Native
No, it would cause stomach pains to the puppy
Reduce meals to 3 times a day.
Yes the puppy should be fed 4 to 5 times a day.
No - at this age, your puppy has been completely weaned from his mother and no longer has the ability to digest milk sugars. You can cause digestive upset, including diarrhea, if you feed milk to a 10 month old puppy.
A heaping cup in the morning and again that evening.
You can feed a puppy water and maybe milk.
