If I remember there are some fuses in the side of the dash on the passenger side, open the door and remove the panel to show fuses and one of them is the cigarette lighter.
Just pull all the fuses out and check them. Replace the bad one. that's not really going to help.... remove the cigarette lighter by pulling the trim off the radio there is a fusable link on the cigarette lighter socket itself. you can replace the socket or try to replace the fuseable link its a peice of 14 gauge aluminum wire....
A 1997 Cavalier uses a 15 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter / horn. The fuse box door has a diagram that will show you where the fuse belongs and the proper amperage.
In a 1993 Oldsmobile Delta 88, if the fuse diagram does not show a fuse for the cigarette lighter in the main fuse panel, it may be located in the under-hood fuse box or as part of a different circuit associated with the accessory or power outlets. Additionally, check for any inline fuses connected directly to the cigarette lighter wiring under the dash. If you're still unable to find it, consulting a repair manual or a professional might provide further guidance.
The best way to change the fuse is to get out the Chevrolet Malibu Manual that is provided. Near the back of the manual you will find a diagram of the Fuse panel. On the diagram it will show you where the fuse box is located. Most cars have a few different boxes so you will have to search the diagram for the one that says cigarette lighter. Once you find the fuse on the diagram, open up the fuse box and find the corresponding fuse in your car. Take it out and replace with a fuse of the same rating (AKA White number on the Top of it).
This one is a little bit of a curve ball. Normally the fuse box is located under the steering column on the left hand side. However, in this case the fuse box is located under the dash panel directly adjacent to the "open hood" lever on the left hand side. Their is a rectangular plastic panel that hides it. The plastic panel has a clip on the far side in the center that looks like a beed or a small ball. If you pull on the ball of the clip directly outward from its position (towards the gas pedal) the plastic panel will come off exposing the fuses for the interior. their is always a diagram on the back of the plastic panel to indicate the individual fuses and show their location. If your plastic piece is missing than I can tell you that the fuse for the cigarette lighter is one of the two lowest in the center column of fuses. Their are two 15amp mini fuses, one is for the cigarette lighter and the other is for the power outlet under the center armrest.
Your drivers manual that came with the car should show you.
Below the right hand side of the steering wheel. Pop the fuse panel off and it will show all the fuses. Use the tool provided (stuck to the fuse board) to remove the fuses as a process of trial and error till you find the burnt fuse. My guess is that it will be 20 amp.
If you look at the fuse box inside the car (it's on the passenger's side), there are two yellow (20 amp) fuses sitting right next to each other. The one on the left is for the Power Door Locks, and to the right is for the cigar lighter. They are the only yellow fuses. You can also look inside the cover to the fuse box, theres a diagram and it's labeled. Also, under the hood is another fuse box. Again, theres a diagram inside the cover. The "Park" fuse (Red 10) controls the Cigar lighter ring. Sorry I couldn't show a diagram. Good Luck
I need to know two things------1--I have a 1991 Dodge Spirit-Where on the fuse panel is the fuse that controls the cigarette lighter i t does not show it oMn the cover?-#-2---my blower stopped working, I get good heat on all settings. What can I check I checked the fuse, and it is good, could I have a loose wire somewhere? Mike
A Ford Focus fuse diagram will show the placement of all fuses for the vehicle including the brake and headlights, the interior lights, and the dashboard lights. This diagram is generally located on the inside cover of the fuse box.
Go to the library. But what are you looking for, a fuse problem or a wire problem? The fuse box is factory set by college degree workers, the library can show you the wires and fuses in the auto section.
