Camp Pieri (Fruedenberg Kasern) was an joint Air Force/Army installation when I was stationed there from August of 1965 through June of 1968. The Air Force units were Det 2, 6910th Security Wing (my unit), an communications outfit (Twilight Network), and a photo recon outfit (barracks only) The Army units stationed at Pieri when I was first there was a missile repair unit, a small communications outfit )who lived with us in our barracks, and a light truck unit. The missile outfit moved out sometime in 1966/67 as I moved into their former barracks in 67. The other Army unit was still there when I left in June 68. The base became totally Army sometime in the 70s when the Air Force moved its main operations to Ramstein Air Base. My former outfit, Det 2, 6910th was disbanded in 1969 according to some of the guys who attend our reunions. Camp Pieri was returned to the German government (I believe it was in the 1990s) and is now used for housing for students and others. The area around Pieri and part of the old base has been converted to housing with new apartments occupying parts of the former area. The four original barracks, our operations building, and the snack bar/small BX building are still there. Mike Baye

The Army classifies "Permanent Party" as a soldier (including the soldier's family) assigned to a military unit permanently based at that installation or an Army civilian employee working in an office on that installation.
Commonly, soldiers are stationed in an army camp, or army barracks.
Where in germany can you take the british army test?
Usually boot camp for the army lasts for a few weeks. After boot camp you get time off before you actually start your service.
V Army Corps - Germany - ended in 1945.
