A lot of campsites do not allow dogs so you should check before you book. Usually dogs love camping because they get to spend way more time with their humans. Of course, this does also depend on your dog's temperament and training.
If you are unsure how your dog will get on, it may be worth camping near your home as a sort of 'trial run' before you plan any major expedition.
As Wiki User mentioned, always make sure that dogs are permitted for the park you're staying in.
One thing to keep in mind is the breed - some dogs are better for the outdoors than others.
Always keep them close, don't ever let them off leash because things can get unpredictable at times outside. People you don't know, wild life, roads etc.
Overall I highly recommend having your pup as a companion. Me and Chopper have a great time on the trails.

There are many great camping food ideas available as long as you have the correct cooking equipment (ie stove).Ideas are hamburgers, hot dogs and even marshmallows for a camp fire treat.
Build a fire, make smores and hot dogs, and tell ghost stories.Well I know in Boy Scouts camping gives kids leadership toughness, responibility endurance, and a sense of adventure.
Well I live in Hawaii and I personally think that if you want to go camping, you should try places like diamond head, or up in the mountains. you might want to go to maui or kaui to see if there are good camping places too.
The best foods to take are ones that do not need much cooking and can be stored in a cooler. I would suggest peanut butter, hot dogs and sandwiches along with light snacks such as trail mix.
You're in luck, it's the same word: camping. :-) "To go camping" is faire du camping.
Yes, the verb camping is the word for the act of camping.
