Does air conditioner outside unit weight if more is good or not?

Hi, Outside unit means - Compressor and Condenser. 1. If compressor weight more- More power is required to do the same job as lighter compressor to get same work output. Life of the compressor has to be checked. 2. Condenser weight- the thickness of the condenser tubes is more then heat tranfer reduced. overall efficiency of system will reduced.

What ton unit should you have inside if you have a 4 ton ac outside?

It depends on the cooling load for the home. air conditioners are sized and rated as a matched system consisting of the condenser and evaporator. The capacity of the system changes with the different evaporators. Usually you use either the same size as the condenser or 1/2 ton larger.

Why does your Whirlpool window air conditioner sound like running water but no water appears on the walls beneath it?

The air conditioner drips condensation inside the unit. There is a drip pan inside the unit that catches this water, the water then drains to the back of the unit which is a compartment that houses a fan and a condenser coil. The fan slings this water on the condenser coil which helps to condense and cool the refrigerant.

What is meant by split air conditioner?

The central air conditioner is blowing air but it's not cold air?

Check to make sure that the condenser (outside unit) is running. If it isn't, the fan in the air-handling unit (inside your home) is only recirculating the air inside your home. Then make sure that the water pan under your inside unit is not full of water. If it is, suck it out with a wet-dry vac. The floating cut-off switch that activates your air Compressor outside will re-activate and your compressor will start working again. Also be sure that the drain pipe on your inside unit is connected and is not clogged. Otherwise your water pan will keep filling up and it will continue to shut off your A/C Compressor. This usually fixes this issue especially if your Unit is less than 10 years old.
