It may, or it may not. Some devices are specifically designed for one frequency, and won't work on another frequency. It is safest to look at the electrical specifications; if it says something like "50 or 60 Hz", it should work on both; if it says "60 Hz", then it is better not to use it, if you get your electricity at 50 Hz.

add Consider an electric clock bought from US (60Hz) to New Zealand (50Hz) - it would run slower. (Of more importance is the difference in voltage.) Ignoring the voltage difference (suppose you have an 230:110 v transformer), the actual power delivered by a tool will be less, because the hysteresis curve of the iron will be different at the two frequencies. Iron is used as part of the electromagnetic motor system.
