Advil is an over-the-counter NSAID pain reliever; "maxzide" is a prescription diuretic. Advil (ibuprofen) can damage the kidneys when used to excess, and any diuretic forces the kidneys to work harder than they normally do.
I do take both, but I'm very careful not to take more than the recommended dose of ibuprofen. I am neither a physician nor a pharmacist; if you want reassurance, consult the pharmacist who gave you the maxzide.
It is a diuretic
No
Advil
YES
Advil, the brand makes children's advil in dosages for children. Motrin, the other brand of advil also makes children's advil called Children's Motrin. These both can be taken by children as the dosage is made for kids.
HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE W/TRIAMTERENE
Maxzide is a combination of hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic, and triamterene, a potassium sparing diuretic. Both function to remove excess fluid from the body & are also used in treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
Go to your parents and say: "Mom and Dad, I have a problem. I have taken up to 40 Advil every day for a week. I'm afraid I'm going to hurt myself, and I want to stop. Please help me."
I highly don't recommend it because if you keep taking unnecessary Advil or any other paid med. you will develop an ulcer.
Every 4 hours. hope that helped :)
Yes, these are different categories of pain relievers and can be taken together.
Advil-PM contains Benadryl (diphenhydramine, an antihistamine) and Clarinex is also an antihistamine, though of another type. I wouldn't take both. Try using plain Advil with a different antihistamine, Zyrtec, which also has a sedating effect.
