I am 90% African and I am American. I have soft fine hair. It lays close to my skin on my neck and between my shoulder blade. My hair appears very thick when I wear it naturally. However I now I have relaxed hair. It is chemically altered yet, very fine and healthy. I have very little breakage and I love my fine soft hair. People are always surprised by how soft my hair is.
yes, of course.
The answer lies between the physical structure of the hair. One is Heredity. These are genes that each person inherits from their parents. It's not only a difference between just African Americans and Caucasians, hair is different with all races such as African Americans, Caucasians and Asians. We all have a different diameter of pigment and structure with our hair which will vary.
Gray hair is genetic and not a sign of stress. Your hair doesn't turn gray it grows that way. Caucasians tend to go gray earlier and redheads earliest of all. Then Asians. Then African-Americans.

TERMINAL is coarse strong hair found in the pubic areas and on the head, eyebrows etc. VELLUS hair is fine short hairs found all over the body. LANUGO hair is found on unborn feutes' and is also fine and short. The different types of hair are VELLUS, LANUGO and TERMINAL. Yes. My mother is African American and was born with strawberry blond hair which later turned red. Both of her parents (my grandparents) are African American although it's possible my grandfather has 25% European American ancestry. Because she get's a relaxer to straighten her hair, the chemicals turns her hair Auburn. African Americans can have any hair color possible. I have meet more African Americans with blond kinky hair than red. So I'm sure my mom is pretty rare.
African-Americans, like anyone else, can straighten their hair.
Its because of the parents genes. Since African Americans usually have course and tight curly hair, when mixed with a difference race that has fine straight hair, it results in loose curls.
Yes.
Yes.
because our hair has a lack of moisture (oil) so we put grease or oil in our haiR. For you guys oily hair is bad but for us it is a sign of healthy hair. But not all African Americans hair is greasy!
Look for products that describe the texture of your hair, not the color of your skin.
Indian hair.depends on your nationality.Brazilian hair works better for african americans because it blends better with their hair texture
yes it works on all kinds of hair even on dog hair!
All people grow body hair. Some people's hair is just fainter than others.
It's just genitics. Black hair is a dominant trait, so anyone who has a parent with black hair usually has black hair.
