Absolutely NOT!! While they do have the same displacement, they are COMPLETELY different engines.
my money says the 350 olds rocket seeins how there was never a 357 chevy.
The Rocket 350 oldsmobile engines will bolt in as well as the Rocket 455 olds.
J. Olds has written: 'Options for flight testing rocket-based combined-cycle (RBCC) engines' -- subject(s): Engine tests, Supersonic combustion ramjet engines, X-34 reusable launch vehicle, Flight tests, Rocket engines
Chevy Cavalier or Olds Calais...
speed wise the Chevy engines are better but build for strength wise the olds wins.
A 350 Oldsmobile engine has a different bolt pattern than the Chevrolet engine. The 350 Olds and 350 Pontiac engines have the same bolt pattern. The 350 Chevrolet and the 350 Buick engines have the same bolt pattern. Unless you have a dual bolt pattern transmission (there are some out there) in that Chevy, the Olds engine won't bolt into the Chevy transmission.
The 350 Rocket from the olds is Far superior. I just put one in my Grand Prix switched from the 350 Chevy and with a 4 barrel holly carb you will notice a BIG difference.
They are both good engines, I wouldn't say one is better than the other.
Pontiac. Buick.. olds.. whatever GM has as an equivilent to your Malibu
The bolt pattern on Chevy engines is unique. There are TH350 transmissions with both the Chevy bolt pattern and the BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) pattern, but they are becoming somewhat rare.
18436572 whether it is a Chevy 5.7 or a Pontiac 5.7 Pontiac 5.7 engines ceased to exist after 1981 so anything after was either an Olds or Chevy engine.
Could be one of three V6 engines or a Chevy V8. The transmission won't bolt up to the Olds motor. However, you can change the motor mounts.....Use the ones for a Cutlass and a Buick, Olds, Pontiac transmission.
