The Bible clearly states that Jesus is God's only begotten Son, in John 3:16. There is no question that the Bible and all true Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God. If He wasn't, He could not have risen from the dead, nor have died and did what He did. He was the only person ever to live a life without sin, and because of that, He was able to offer forgiveness of all sin, and therefore salvation to all who accept Christ as their Savior. He had to be sinless because of His Holy nature and because of the fact that had He sinned (which he could not have) He would not have been able to plead on the behalf of sinners to God the Father, who accepts nothing shy of holiness. As a side note, even now, the angels respectfully fear Him, not that they have sin (for they do not, as they lack even free will as we have), but for the mere fact that being holy is literally in a completely different realm of existence than being sinless.

Also, God is not three gods. God is a Trinity, consisting of three Persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It can kind of be compared to having three personalities or three jobs that only one Person can do. For example, a father is a son to his father (not the case with God) but is also a husband, and therefore, playing three roles, yet being but one person.

AnswerThe 'provability' of this is questionable. The two religions do not necessarily treat their Holy Scriptures as factual historic documents (For example, philosophers such as Bultmann, Fletcher, and other practitioners of Situation Ethics), although it is the most generally held opinion.

While the Muslim scriptures state that Jesus was a prophet of God as opposed to his son, or Himself incarnate, there is a greater ambiguity about the Christian view. Jesus is often seen as the son of God, also as a part of God, but also as God himself, come down to Earth. The point is certainly debated by religious scholars, but the primary problem is that the Bible itself contradicts itself/is vague on this issue.

Essentially, although Jesus does indeed exist in both religions, there is no way of proving his actual relationship to God, or in fact, whether or not he existed: the implication being that if any empirical evidence could be shown that Jesus was God's son, then there must thus be evidence he once existed, which would mean that one religion is evidently right. Such evidence does not exist, and arguably, according to the teachings of The Bible at least, can never exist.

AnswerIn the movie "GOD", were George Burns portrayed God,he was asked by a child if Jesus was His son? God (George Burn) replied; "Yes Jesus was my son, and so is Mohammed, and Buddha."

Yes, Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, etc... was the son of god and so are we....

Answer

The problem here would be that Buddha is not part of the Abrahamic religions, and that any movie, no matter how good, is still a work of fiction.

Answer"Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against";(Luke 2:34;margin).

God predicted many would not believe that Jesus was the son of God;and

even that they would speak against it.We (Christians)can prove that Jesus is the son of God,because God hath not left himself without witness(in other words --the law and the prophets--the Bible).

"Search the scriptures................................ they are they which testify of me."(John 5:39;margin)

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost(2 Peter 1:21)

AnswerNeither position can be proven. Believing one, or the other, or neither is a matter of faith, or a matter of life and death depending on where you live.

Answer

According to the Christians, Jesus was the son of God whereas according to the Muslims Jesus was a Prophet of God called in Arabic Eesa now whi is correct is not that difficult a queston look God is one who has created everything the world and everything living in it now say if He wanted someone to get Superhuman powers couldn't he do that? ofcourse he could He's god and God can cause a man to die and then bring him back to life as He is God so in The Holy Quran it is stated that Hazarat Mariam (Marry) was a pious lady a God fearing lady one day Gods angel Jibrael came to her and said that you are going to have a child named eesa (Jesus) she replied that how was it possible as she had never been touched by a man but the angel who had come in human form by the way replied that God has the power to do so and there u hav it God can do anything create universe create people give people special powers Jesus birth was one of Gods miracles

Answer

The question is "Can Christians prove Jesus is God?" The answer is simply yes and I will show you.

People will say that Jesus never claimed to be God. However, Jesus never claimed to be prophet or a man ether, but the Muslims do not have a problem with this. It is not necessary for some to make a direct claim about something in order for it to be true here let me show you if say My name is Robert you can conclude from my name that I am a male but I never said I am one. Let me take this further and show you about Jesus.

Jesus may not have said "I am God" in a affirmative statement however, He did claim the divine name for himself (Exo. 3:14 with John 8:58) and he also received worship (Matt. 2:2; 14:33; 28:9; John 9:35-38).

In Exo. 3:14 God tells Moses that I am when moses asked for His name. "John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." Please notice here that Jesus says Before Abraham was born this is past tense but in the same breath Jesus says I am bringing it right back to the present. Jesus makes this switch on purpose Jesus drew there attention to the Old Testament then draws them right back to the present tense with I am. Jesus therefore was making the claim that He was God and it clearly upset them "John 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him." This shows us that Jesus clearly caused them to reflect on the name of God therefore they new He was claiming to be God. We know they new this from Joh 10:33 "The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God."

It is not necessary for Jesus to directly claim I am God in order for the claim to be the truth of who he is to be made clear. The real issue is not did Jesus directly claim to be God in order to satisfy our theological demands. The issue is what did Jesus say in the context and culture of the time in which he spoke.

Now lets look at John 5:16-18 "And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the Sabbath day. But, Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the

more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but, said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God." The Jews said it themselves. "He makes Himself equal with God", being equal with God is saying you're God. Clearly the Jews in Jesus day understood that He was claiming to be God why can't others see it?

Some here might say "well God can not go against His own nature therefore God can not become a man as it would violate this." Again all you are saying is God is not all powerful and for me that is unacceptable. Also what nature would He be going against? God's nature and character and essence of His being, like holiness, love, compassion, goodness, patience, etc. There is nothing here that would go against God becoming a man. Some here could say "well this would go against His nature of being Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent." None of these attributes negate the possibility of a part of God becoming man. The essential nature of something is not changed if a part of it adds humanity.

Another almost predictable argument against the deity of Jesus is that Jesus did not know all things so He can not be God. Although it is true that Jesus said He did not know the day nor the hour when He will return Matt. 24:35-37 one must understand why he said it and in order to do that we must understand Jesus had two natures. Jesus was both God and man at the same time this is called the hypostatic union

As God

a. He is worshiped Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33

b. He is prayed to Acts 7:59 1 Cor. 1:1-2

c. He was called God John 20:28 Heb. 1:8

d. He is sinless 1 Pet. 2:22 Heb. 1:8

e. He knew all things John 21:17

As man

a. He worshiped the Father John 17

b. He prayed to the Father John 17:1

c. He was called man Mark 15:39 John 19:5

d. He was tempted Matt. 4:1

e. He grew in wisdom Luke 2:52

Is this a logical argument? The reason I ask this is because it would have to work both ways if Jesus did not know all things then Jesus could not be God right? However what if there was a verse to show He did know all things would this not be proof He is God? Answer is yes, so is there a verse that says He new all things? Joh 21:17 "He saith unto him the third time, Simon, sonof Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep." Now Jesus did not correct Simon did He? No in fact He let Peter continue on with his statement that Jesus knew all things. Therefore, it must be true.

Another abjection to the divinity of Jesus is God can not be tempted and the Bible says that Jesus was so therefor Jesus can not be God. As I have adressed earlyer Jesus had two natures God and man and I have shown this from scripture so I will not go over again. But, the question can be asked can God be tempted? Psa 106:13-15 "They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul." The thing I think we need to understand is the definition of words so lets look at this word tempt. In the Hebrew it is naw-saw' in the Strongs lexicon A primitive root; to test; by implication to attempt: - adventure, assay, prove, tempt, try. In the New Century Bible it says Psa. 106:14 "They became greedy for food in the desert, and they tested God there." Now in the New Testament when Jesus is tempted let us look at that word there. It is ek-pi-rad'-zo From G1537and G3985; to testthoroughly:- tempt. Satan had test Jesus to see who He was because he did not know and this is obvious by his questions "If you be the Son of God?"

Another common argument is if Jesus is God how can the Father be greater then Jesus? Th Bible verse used for this is Joh 14:28 "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come againunto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I."

I can not argue that Jesus did not say this because He did it is there red and white, but Jesus did not say the Father was greater because He was not God. We must understand that Jesus made Himself a little lower then the angels Heb 2:9 "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man." Jesus even went so far as to empty Himself Php 2:5-8 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

Again we need to understand that Jesus had two natures God and man and again I covered this earlier, but Jesus was not saying He was not God, but admitted to being human and therefore subject to the laws of God so that He would be able to what it was He for and that was to redeem man by paying for the price of what we rightfully owe. Gal 4:4-5 "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons."

Jesus is called God in John 1:1, God our savior in 1 Tim. 2:3, God with us in Matt. 1:23, Chief Shepherd 1 pet 5:4, Lord God Almighty Rev. 15:3, True God 1 John 5:20, Only wise God Jude 1:25, Stephen called up God and used the name Jesus Acts 7:59, God purchased the church with His own blood Acts 20:28 I will talk about this in a moment, but let's look at a couple more. The Father calls Jesus God in Heb. 1:8 Thomas calls Jesus Lord and God in John 20:28 and finally in Col. 2:9 we see that in Jesus dwelt the Godhead bodily.

Now let's go back to Acts 20:28 God purchased the church with His own blood one could argue that this simply means His Son died for the church however, one must think if that is what God meant then would He have not said He purchased the church with His Sons blood. But, this is not what it says it specifically says He purchased it with His own blood meaning Jesus is God.

The name of Jesus declares that He is God ee-ay-sooce' Of Hebrew origin [H3091]; Jesus(that is, Jehoshua), the name of our Lord and two (three) other Israelites: - Jesus. In the Hebrew Jesus name is yeh-ho-shoo'-ah,yeh-ho-shoo'-ahFrom H3068and H3467; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua(that is, Joshua), the Jewish leader: - Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Compare H1954, H3442.

If we were to compare Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures to one another we would see that Jesus is indeed the God of the Old Testament.

God of the Old TestamentIsa 40:28 and Gen. 1:1 God is the creator of things.

JesusJohn 1:3, Col. 1:16-17 Jesus created all things.

God of the Old TestamentIsa. 41:4; 44:6; 48:12 God is the first and the last.

Jesus Rev. 1:17, 2:8, 22:13 Jesus is the first and the last

God of the Old Testament Isa. 43:3, 45:21 God is the savior

Jesus John 4:42, 1 John 4:14 Jesus is the savior

The list goes on and on but for sake of time I will move on.

Now in Mark 9:1-6 We see that they brought a man sick of the palsy to Jesus and seeing there faith He says "Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee." This upset the scribes said to themselves that Jesus blasphemeth. Now id we go back to 1 Sam 16:7 that God tells Samuel that He looks at the heart of men, but in Mark 9:4 it says Jesus

knew there hearts in fact He knew there hearts were evil I think it is safe to say that this is clearly telling us who Jesus is. Lets take a bit further according the scribes only God can forgive sin right? Well what happens Mat 9:6 "But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house." Jesus proved He could forgive sin by healing the man clearly these verses in Mark is telling us one thing Jesus is God Almighty.

The question assumes that one or the other must be right, but there is a third way - that there is no God and that therefore Jesus was just a man, perhaps a wandering preacher. So we are left with:

  • Christians can not really prove that Jesus is the Son of God
  • Muslims can not really prove that Jesus was a prophet of God
  • No one can prove that God even exists.
  • Many people therefore believe that Christians and Muslims are therefore both wrong.
