According to Judaism, there is no prohibition against drinking alcohol. The Torah does, however, condemn drinking to excess.

There is such a thing as non-kosher Alcoholic Beverages, which are avoided by Jews who keep kosher.

YES!

Not only can Hasidic Jews drink alcohol, it is considered a 'mitzvah' (good deed) when done so on the Sabbath and on holidays.

Judaism regards certain foods to be 'special' as they are connected to specific traditions and referenced in The Bible (old testament) and various other religious texts. Wine is one such food (other examples include Olive oil, dates) and is associated with a specific prayer.

An additional response: it should be noted that alcohol may not be consumed to the point that one could get violent or otherwise harm themselves or others, spiritually or physically. This holds for Hassidim just as for everyone else.

Yes, it does. Judaism does not have a prohibition against alcohol. On certain holidays like Purim and Simchat Torah, drinking and merriment is encouraged. At a Passover Seder, we are commanded to drink 4 cups of wine.

No, Jews are not forbidden to drink alcohol. In fact, wine (in moderation) is used in some Jewish rituals, including the Sabbath meals and weddings.

There is a particular custom that Jews practice in the preparation of wine exclusively called "Mevushal" or "Boiling". It is a practice to make the wine of into an inferior quality so that it can be assured that it was not used to praise any other gods but God himself. Observant Jews will drink only mevushal wines. Other types of alcohol, like beer, gin, whiskey, etc. do not require mevushal.

If you are thinking of a total prohibition of alcohol, it is the Muslims who are forbidden to drink alcohol.

The orthodox Jews believe alcohol is permitted, but there are only certain ocassions when you're allowed to get drunk, such as the festival of Purim. In fact, it's actually a requirement to get drunk on Purim.

Non-orthodox Jews usually follow general social norms with regard to alcohol.
