Tri-State Coach / United Limo operates buses from South Bend (and other points in Indiana) to O'Hare and Midway Airports in Chicago.
Greyhound also operates from South Bend to downtown Chicago.
But if you are not going to the airport, it would make a lot more sense to take the South Shore train.
