You have no claim on your former spouse's SS benefits.
No, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) cannot take a percentage of Social Security funds. Social Security benefits and VA benefits are separate and administered by different government agencies. VA benefits are based on military service and disabilities, while Social Security benefits are provided to individuals who have paid into the Social Security system through employment.

It will take minimum three weeks to get social security number for your new borns.
take her birth certificate to the social security office and file for a new social security card. if she is in school they should also have that number.
Not really. Some religious groups have been allowed to opt out of the program, but short of that it's pretty much mandatory. (The groups that have been allowed to opt out have a long-established tradition of providing for their own elderly, so that social security was for them effectively something they'd already been doing on their own for decades. You can't just say "it's against my religion" and get out of it.)
Social Security Disability cannot be garnished.
No. It says right on a social security card, for social security purposes only. Not for identification. If some one ask for your social security for something else, tell to give your a letter from the Social Security Administration telling you that they require the number for that purpose.
