Adding bleach to purify well water is perfectly normal and very effective. Bleach in controlled amounts cleans a well and pipes of impurities. If you call for a well water technician to clean your well water of bacteria he will first use chlorine (granulated bleach ) then later install a filter or UV lamp to continue the process.2 -I usually add about 2 cups of plain bleach to my well twice a year. It gets rid of the egg smell and kills bacteria. You can start with less and see if that does the trick. By the way, I used to work at a water treatment facility and had to pour pure chlorine into the system, bleach is just very diluted chlorine and is fine in low quantities.
That depends entirely on how much and what kind of bleach. A gallon of your common domestic bleach poured into a well will totally dissipate within a few hours, yet will have killed many microbes in the water. Domestic bleach is usually about 2% chlorine. When I clean a contaminated well I use 68% granulated chlorine and it kills all biological impurities, yet will disappear in about 3-4 days and cause little side effects. Naturally, people cannot drink the water during this period.
Well, if you use chlorine bleach the color will be ruined. I suggest getting stains out with a non-chlorine bleach stain remover like Clorox 2 stain fighter and color booster
No, you can (and should) NOT mix anything with chlorine, unless you are fully aware of all dangers doing things like that. At least make sure you are well protected and wearing gas-protection mask. So: Do not do it!
None, unless it is added to the water. Private wells are not usually chlorinated.

A solution of chlorine bleach and water will do the trick. Be really careful not to bleach your clothes, bath towels, etc, and make sure that the room is well-ventilated!

Never put Muriatic into a Well; for any reason. If you want to disinfect your Well; use Chlorine or regular laundry unscented Bleach.

No because ammonia and chlorine gas react together, as well as ammonia and bleach. So in other words, you cannot produce a chlorine gas with something that is meant to react to it.
Bleach, bleach and more bleach You can't sterilize a well, you can only sterilize water that comes out of it. If the water is contaminated when it comes in, nothing you do to the well will affect the water itself, more contaminated water will enter the well.

Yes, liquid pool chlorine is essentially the same stuff as bleach that you buy in the store. Be careful that you don't add chlorine to a well system that doesn't scrub the chlorine before going to a water softener or reverse-osmosis filter, or if you house has polybutyline piping.
Answer#1Because gaseous chlorine (one of the most deadly elements) is likely to be released. Chlorine is extraordinarily damaging to the lungs and can cause pulmonary (of the lungs) chemical burns, as well as swelling of the lungs and fluid accumulation in the lungs (pulmonary edema) VENTILATE!Chlorine bleach should NEVER be used by or in the proximity of someone with asthma!
