JW youths do everything in their power to guard their spirituality, and their morality. They are required by Jehovah God to remain 'chaste' till marriage.
So we ask ourselves the following: Is sorority life conducive to remaining a virgin? Would Jesus join a sorority or fraternity? Then we make our decision with our spirituality and morality in-mind.
We often hear statements like the following, from those who are in sororities: From a sorority girl of 17: 'There isn't a girl in our sorority who's a virgin.' . . . A fraternity boy, 16 1/2: 'I joined the fraternity to have a place to bring a girl. The fraternity rents a little basement apartment near the school, and let me tell you, it's a real rape shack.'"
We work hard to heed the counsel of Christ Jesus in John 15:19: "you are no longer part of the world." (New Living Translation) Yes, we live 'IN' the world, but we don't become a 'part' of it. We avoid the things that are considered acceptable by others.
