If they're prepared at home, the vessels used, and the ingredients (such as the oil for frying) need to be kosher.

Jews can eat anything they want. If an individual Jew decides to conduct himself according to
the teachings of Judaism, then he will regulate his choice of foods according to Jewish law.
Almost all vegetables are permitted ... provided they are prepared according to Jewish law
with regard to other added ingredients, vessels used in their preparation and in serving, etc.,
just like any other food.
