A Pale Tussock Moth caterpillar crawled onto my neck about 40 minutes ago as I was picking apples: now there is a faint red itchy rash on my neck and a matching rash on one forearm where - I think - it fell when I shook it off. I caught it and kept it long enough to be certain what it was. I washed my hands, so they aren't itching.

The websites tell me it eats oak, birch and lime leaves but all the trees in my garden are apples.
