UVR is not able to penetrate opaque surfaces like walls, however, certain surfaces such as glass may allow UV radiation to penetrate depending on how the glass has been treated. Water allows UV to pass through but only to a certain depth where it will get absorbed in within the water molecules.
uU UVR transfers much more energy than visible light. As a result, UVR can inhibit photosynthesis and harm cells by damaging their DNA. DNA damage, in turn, can lead to cancer.

When oxidized by ultraviolet radiation (UVR), melanin provides the adaptive coloration of the skin. Melanin is produced by melanocytes in response to UVR exposure, leading to increased pigmentation that helps protect the underlying skin cells from DNA damage. This darkening of the skin serves as a natural defense mechanism against the harmful effects of UVR, reducing the risk of skin cancer and other related conditions.

An under voltage release (UVR) is a protective device that disconnects a circuit when the voltage drops below a predetermined level, preventing equipment damage due to insufficient voltage. In contrast, an under voltage trip (UVT) refers to a mechanism that automatically interrupts the power supply to a circuit when the voltage falls below a set threshold, typically as part of a circuit breaker system. While both serve to protect equipment from low voltage conditions, UVR is often used in conjunction with contactors, whereas UVT is integrated into circuit breakers.

sunlight is needed for plants to grow but if there is no plants animals will die and eventually we'll die because of no food
It's summer, and you can't wait to go outside for a long, sweaty run. But uh oh--spend too long in the sun and you could raise your risk of melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer triggered by prolonged exposure to the sun. But you're absolutely dying to exercise outside--so what do you do? "Each year more than 3.5 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in the US, over 90 percent of which are caused by the sun's ultraviolet rays (UVR)," says The Skin Cancer Foundation. "So, whenever you venture out in the sun, be smart about it." So what does the Skin Cancer Foundation recommend? 1. If possible, work out during the early morning or evening. The sun's rays are typically the strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., so limit your exposure by working out when the sun is either rising or setting. "That is when the sun's rays are usually strongest," says the Skin Cancer Foundation. "And take advantage of early morning and late afternoon to indulge in your favorite outdoor activities--try the beach at sunset, for example, rather than midday." 2. If you can't avoid midday exercise, make sure you're protected. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends exercising in areas where there's plenty of shade--such as in a wooded area or under roofing structures. Better yet, keep yourself protected by carrying around a sun umbrella for artificial shade. 3. Be smart about clothing. We often think of sunscreen as being the best way to protect our skin from skin cancer, but the best way to keep your skin covered is by doing exactly that--covering it with thick, dark fabric to block off the sun's rays. For the best defense, the Skin Cancer Foundation recommends wearing dark, long-sleeved shirts and trousers for continuous daily protection. Choosing clothing specifically designed to absorb sweat, such as clothes made with polyurethane material, can also help keep you dry and cool while working out as well. And lastly, you can never use too much sunscreen--slather it on every two hours for complete UVA and UVB protection. Make sure to use sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or higher.
