Yes a 12 year old is allowed to babysit. If that 12 year old wants to babysit for another family other than his or her own, then they should ask those parents and see if they are comfortable with that.

∙ 13y agoYes, most twelve year olds, in my opinion, are actually more responsible. I would prefer a twelve year old to sit my children rather that a sixteen year old, because the older one is more likely to talk on the phone, play on the internet, and not play with the kids. The older ones are just doing it for the money, but at age twelve, they are also doing it to have a good time.
The parents are likely to get a good report.
