I don't know about your year/engine, but I own a 2000 Grand Cherokee 6 cyl and towed my 16' pop up from Illinois to Yellowstone and back. I was very disappointed with it's performance. The gas mileage dropped to 8 MPG and I started having vacuum and acceleration problems.

On my 2002 wrangler you have to put a fuse in the fuse box behind the glove box. I think it says transmission but this will allow you to start the Jeep without having to push in the clutch.
