if it is a dohc engine then you may have to remove the intake manifold
The new key lock is not physically cutting off the actual switch. Was this he original problem that caused replacement of the key set? Maybe you installed the new lock improperly or he shaft to the switch or switch has a problem.
Original equipment probably has none. Replacement parts may come with a grease fitting.
yes you do have to remove lock cylinder:first turn it to the off position and then under column is a hole.Take a pick or coathanger ,bend it straight to go inside hole and press against cylinder release button and pull cylinder out
I don't think that's possible without the key.
What size is the engine? The replacement procedures are different for 4 or 6 cylinder engines, 2.5, 3.0 or 3.8 liter.
Personal choice Taurus is a 6 cylinder Cavalier normally is a 4 cylinder
Bad ignition coil? if Coil on plug system is used Burned valve? Blown piston? Bad spark plug?
