It could, but I wouldn't recommend it in a vehicle that old. It's much easier for 5W to leak out of a vehicle than 10W or 15W.

NO! That's way to thick. 5w20 is what needs to be used. That thick of a oil will take longer to get to critical engine parts and wear your engine prematurely.
2.4L uses 5w20 2.7L uses 5w20 3.5L uses 10w30
take out the center bolt which is the linkage, then take out the 3 bolts that keep it in place and remove the motor, reverse to install.
5w30 or 5w20, depends if it has MDS or not. If the oil cap does not say 5w20, use 5w30.
