A CJ7 front floor panel will not directly fit a 1979 CJ5 due to differences in dimensions and design between the two models. For the best results, it's recommended to use parts specifically designed for the CJ5.

On my 79 CJ5 with a 304 V8 there is a adjusting screw on the side of thecarburetor (side that the throttle cable is on) where the throttle shaft goes in. You turn this in to increase engine speed. This should be the same on a CJ7. Of course this is providing the engine is tuned and running properly. Note: This is not the two air mixture screws on the bottom of the carb. Don't move these unless you know what you are doing.
