Different technologies produce different amounts of light - measured in lumens - for a given amount of electric power - measured in watts.

Incandescent: 12 lumens per watt

Halogen: 16 lumens per watt

CFLs: 50-60 lumens per watt

LEDs: 100-120 lumens per watt

Does a down light consume less electricity?

The fixture construction has nothing to do with the amount of energy that the fixture uses. It is the lamp in the fixture that draws the amperage. This amperage times the fixtures voltage is what gives you the fixtures wattage. W = A x V. Watts = Amps x Volts.

What does cellular respiration allows an organism to get energy from?

In case of the cellular respiration, glucose molecule is burned out to carbon bi oxide and water. In chemical burning you get heat released suddenly. In case of biological oxidation, the energy is released in step wise fashion. Most of the energy is trapped in ATP molecule. Some of the energy is released as heat.
