my understanding is the married couple hasn't been consummated (had sex) the marriage there for you're not getting a divorce but an annulment.
An annulment is what one would obtain for an unconsummated marriage.
In most states, including South Carolina, you do not have to return your wedding ring when you divorce. If the marriage was consummated, you have done your part to keep the ring.
