Dohc means that the engine has 4 valves per cylinder or 2 camshafts per head :)
engine size is found on the engine, but all Mazda engines in the b and z family have the imprint of DOHC on the rocker-cover when they are dohc if you find an imprint of b6-XX-XX then you have a 1.6 and if dohc is found on the rockercover then it is a 1.6 dohc. if you see b8, then that is always a 1.8l SOHC engine
DOHC means Double Over-Head Cam. The engine has 2 camshafts that are located within the cylinder head at the top of the engine.
You could have the 2.0 L - DOHC - 4 cylinder or a 2.5 L - DOHC - V6 engine
ignition problem
DOHC stands for Dual Over Head Cam : That means that each cylinder head has 2 camshafts on the top of the engine cylinder head ( in the case of the Ford Escort ZX2 , there is one cylinder head on the four cylinder engine so it has 2 camshafts on top of the cylinder head )
On a 1999 Mazda B3000, the PCV valve is in one of two places, depending on the engine. On SOHC 4-cylinder engines, the PCV valve is mounted on the oil separator on the left side of the engine. On DOHC 4-cylinder engines, the valve is behind the coolant bypass hose..
its a Mazda engine . ( DOHC 4cyl. 16 valve 2.0l ) For the probe 1993
The 2.0 L - DOHC - 4 cylinder and the 2.5 L - DOHC - V6 engine
ignition problem
it has 6 cylinder, 24 valve, DOHC
The only difference is the dohc engine has 2 camshafts, an intake and an exhaust camshaft. A standard 2.0 has only 1 camshaft. Many dohc engines also have 4 valves per cylinder whereas a 2.0 sohc generally has 2 valves per cylinder.
