I have a Zune Hd and also had this problem. Go to: Start >Control Panel >Windows Firewall >Change Settings >Exceptions and check the box "Zune Wireless Sync". Then hit "ok". That should fix your problem, (to sync media, open the zune software while your zune is connected, to charge and use the zune close the zune software).
