No, there must be one person of either sex, one male and one female. The reason for this is that there is a spiritual bond made between the godparents and the child, very much like a spiritual family and so there must be a mother and father.

I recommend Godfather I to everyone as well as Godfather II, both are amazing movies, in my opinion Godfather I is the superior film. As for Godfather III not an amzing film, but certainly worth watching if you are an avid fan of the first two films.
