Yes. Primitive firearms too. Catch is you cannot purchase ammo or powder, but your Uncle, father or brother may gift it to you. This is a privilege not to be taken lightly. Individuals that bow hunt or primitive arms hunt as a result of a prior conviction take this right very seriously, and follow hunting laws and regulations rigidly, no one wants to lose this 'last right" to hunt. All Mass hunters that I have met that are limited to bow/primitive have paid their dues to society, and have corrected themselves from the wrong paths they once took. In Massachusetts, hunting is a part of our culture, a tradition that is fading away. The right to keep and bear arms is rooted deep here, and so is proper respect for weapons by those that still have the opportunity to use them. The money hunters generate is important for wildlife management, but there is one caveat. You must have proof of a prior hunting license or FID card or proof of completion of a hunter safety course. Without this, you may have trouble securing a current hunting license. Good Luck.
can a convicted felon hunt deer with a bow or a gun
no
Yes you can hunt as a convicted Felon in Connecticut, Here is the answer I got from the CT DEP. A convicted felon can possess archery equipment, therefore he can hunt with a bow and arrow in Connecticut. Proof of a bow hunting certification course must be submitted before an archery permit can be issued. Mark Clavette DEP Wildlife Division
The Second Amendment of the Constitution does not protect convicted felons.
not any place in the U.S.
Bows are not considered firearms .Felons can bowhunt
I had just got off the phone with the law enforcement at the D.N.R offices and i was told that a felon can hunt with a Bow and Arrow and X-Bow but no type of gun at all not muzzleloader either
A bow is not classified as a firearm in Wyoming, so yes you are able to. Crossbows are a different story as they are classified as a firearm in some states. You would have to check your state laws for that classification, but as long as you do not use a firearm and follow bagging limits and all regulations, yes.
It is a federal crime for a convicted felon to possess a firearm. I am not sure if you can bowhunt. Hunting with or possession of a bow or crossbow is a matter of specific state laws. Check the laws specific to the state in which you reside or intend to hunt.
No, a convicted felon cannot participate in any activity involving a gun. Convicted Felons do not have the right to bear arms. Nor can they vote, or run for office. It is also hard for them to find a well paid job. Most employers will not hire convicted felons. !st, a bow is not a gun. 2nd, a convicted felon CAN vote, once they are off paper, (released from all supervision) Don't know about running for office... seems they would fit right in though. 3rd, there are well paying jobs out there for convicted felons, not all employers are so closed minded that they won't give a guy/gal a chance.
I believe that you can do so - however - if you are on probation why don't you just call your PO and ask them?
Yes.
