Often, dry eyes, or puffiness can occur from using a cpap mask. This is usually caused by an improperly sized mask or a mask that did not stay well seated or sealed during your sleep therapy. Usually at the top of the mask by the bridge of your nose, you get a small (sometimes really small) air-leak that will allow air to escape and is angled towards the eye.

The solution is to make sure the seal on the mask is good. If it isn't, it may be time to replace the cushions. This is covered by many insurance companies.

There is an after market product that was designed by a pulmonolgist who specializes in sleep therapy called mask liners. This product works, or it did for me. They are fibrous or cloth like applicator that goes between the cushion seal and the skin on your face it helps to better seal the mask (especially for those of us with facial hair) and helps prevent these blow by leaks.

If your mask was not fitted specifically for you, it may be the wrong size and sometimes an adjustment to a larger or smaller size will solve this problem.
