You locate the cause of the random misfire and take corrective actions against that; be it a coil, plug, wire, coil boot or crank sensor. A random misfire is as it states - a misfire that happens randomly in possibly a random cylinder as well. They can be hard to diagnose, as well and it is recommended that you take vehicle to a qualified, ASE certified shop for diagnostics.
car will not start if the crank shaft positing sensor is bad ..because it control the car spark plug firing..( no fire no start )
Not enough information. What are the symptoms? No spark, Misfire?
Front cover just above the crank pulley, behind the crank sensor, 1 wire light grey plug.
crank sensor is right behind the starter with two wires connector plug n 10 mm bolt holding it in undo the bolt twist sensor side to side to brake free the o ring then pull out the sensor n repeat the same steps to put back the new one make sure u plug the connector back in
http://autorepair.about.com/library/illustrations/bl331a-lib.htmIt's a black sensor located on the bell housing of the transmission. It has one plug in to it. Known as the crank position sensor.
The 95 models did not use or have a crank sensor. If you are not getting any fire at the plug wires, then you probley need to replace the ignition module that is inside of the distributor.
i would check wires at plug and the plug itself when you unplug and plug it back you might be connicting the wires back and then over time thay come back apart
Perhaps a blown fuel pump. Take a plug wire out and use a spare plug and set it on a piece of metal and crank it and look for the spark. This will eliminate an ignition problem.
Make your way to the front of the engine, remove the plastic v-belt cover from the power steering pump inlet, the sensor sits just above the crank pulley. There's a plastic plug with two wires which needs to be pulled out from the knock/crank sensor. Then use a small spanner to loosen the 2 screws on either side of the sensor.
If you have to crank and crank to get it started look for the coolant temperature sensor and change it. This is just one reason for hard start and is the most popular reason. Other reasons could be plugs, plug wires, coil pack, crank sensor, cam sensor and more.
If you have a 2.2 engine ( 4 cyl. ) it is located under the ignition module at the back of the engine . Follow the plug wires to the coils, under the coils is the module under that is the crank sensor.
