The consumer has purchased an item using money that was borrowed on the condition (in writing) that the consumer would repay the advanced money within a specified time limit at a certain interest rate. When the consumer refuses to make the monthly payment, they have breached a written, and legally binding, agreement, and the credit card company has full rights to use whatever legal means are necessary in order to be repaid.
