"Can a divorced Muslim marry a single catholic in the catholic church?" - Well, I think the question has two important aspects.

I'm not exactly somebody with any real authority in the Catholic Church, however, I think the real issue boils down to the decisions made by the priests or cardinals in whatever particular diocese you are in. There is no papal decree which states that divorced Muslims cannot marry Catholics, just like there is no papal decree which states that divorced Anglicans cannot marry Catholics, however, it is important to note that as a Catholic, I do not really accept the modern liberal notion of "get married, get divorced, get married again" as a real model for social or family life.

Muslim's are allowed to marry Catholics, fact; Divorced Muslims are also allowed to marry Catholics - however, it is up to the individual priest, and perhaps even Cardinal, as to whether the marriage has the potential to last, and whether they will allow it in their own diocese. What I will say is that I hope The Catholic Church does not support the modern notion of "Get married for the sake of it" - which is what leads to so many divorces in the first place. Marriage as an institution doesn't get the respect it deserves in modern society, and divorce, if there is no reason other than "I don't like them anymore", is a modern ill that is diluting the institution of marriage.

ANSWER:

Good question. First, my guess is that your first marriage (to a Muslim in the Islamic faith) would need to be annulled by the Catholic Church. Not certain though b/c you are not a Catholic at all.

We Catholics/Christians are not supposed to "yoke ourselves to unbelievers." Same for Jews and same for Muslims.

You would be required to agree any children from this union in the Catholic faith. Need to contact first a priest at your intended's neighborhood parish/church. The priest can direct you.

Yes, of course you can. Nobody needs permission from another to live a valid life. But, religion can kill just about anything. It's really about allegiances and how to prioritize them when they conflict. So, whats most important; your religion or your marriage? If you treat them as coequal but not as a conflict you may also live a happy life.

What is the Catholic church's stand on a Catholic man dating a non Catholic divorced woman?

The Church is against divorse, but, I think if you were not married in the catholic church to begin with, it's all right as long as you don't lead him away from his religion. The Church is against divorse, but, I think if you were not married in the catholic church to begin with, it's all right as long as you don't lead him away from his religion.ANSWER:Reality: The Catholic Church would not support such a relationship b/c it could lead to a desire by both parties to marry. Before a divorced non-Catholic woman could marry a single Catholic man (or Catholic man w/annullment), the non-Catholic divorced woman would also need to obtain an annulment through the Catholic Church. If you love this man, get started with the Annulment process; it's slow.

Does the Church allow a divorced moslem man to marry a single Catholic female?

Yes. But only if the divorced man obtains an annulment of his previous marriage and agrees to the woman's oath to bring their children up in the Catholic faith.Roman Catholic AnswerThis is known as disparity of cult (when one of the persons attempting marriage is baptised and the other is not) and is a diriment impediment to marriage. Such a marriage is forbidden without express permission and dispensation from one's bishop, and, as noted above, that would only be given if the divorced Muslim man could be shown to not have contradicted a valid marriage in the first instance (which would be an annulment- a decree that no marriage ever existed).

Can a single Catholic woman marry a divorced Catholic man who had a civil ceremony followed by a Catholic Re-affirmation ceremony?

The civil ceremony was probably not recognized by the church. The re-affirmation ceremony shouldn't make any difference. Talk to your priest and find out. Some divorced catholic men just prefer not to remarry and use the church laws as an excuse. The Catholic man, if he underwent a civil ceremony as a Catholic, thereby did not validly enter into a marriage contract, as Catholics are obliged to enter into a sacramental marriage. He was therefore never married in the eyes of the Church. With the re-affirmation ceremony he is thereby able to marry for the first time in the Catholic Church. It would be good for him and any interested party to go to a priest and sit down to make sure there are no impediments or other legal things that need clarification.

Can non baptised man divorced marry single Catholic woman?
