I would say most definitely yes, unless there are some very particular extenuating circumstances--and I can't even dream up a satisfactory excuse at the moment.
The expense involved could be fairly large, and even if the insurer covers it, the rates probably go up for the future. I am a retired highway engineer and can say that a bridge needs a review after a strike from a truck and the steel or concrete may be damaged and possibly closed until deemed safe or repaired.
The vehicle will suffer significant damage and citations will surely be issued.
It is a serious matter and it would require a very understanding boss to not take some serious action. Just my opinion.
