Can a peeking duck egg hatch without a male peeking duck?

No. If the female attempted to hatch eggs without a male, the eggs won't be fertile, and the egg will just go rotten.

How long after Peking Duck lays eggs can you incubate them. My duck laid her eggs on the edge of the pond then laid on them over night and now seems to have abandoned them. What can I do?

Get an oil and put the oil to the prying pan and get the egg and cook it........

How do you know if a cayuga duck egg is fertile?

I guess you would candle it just like any other egg. You put the egg on a focused beam of light in a dark room and if the light won't go through and the egg doesn't light up, it's fertile.

Can you hatch an old duck egg?

No. You can not hatch an old duck egg. It must be continually kept warm and turned over from the time it is laid until it hatches. Once the duckling inside dies, it can not be revived.

How can you tell a fertile egg when was just laid?

you really cant.. DONT TOUCH THEM. just leave them alone. the mother hen knows if there fertile or not. if there not fertile she'll push them to the side, if they are fertile she will sit on them. but sometimes a pushed aside egg is fertile and also it is always warm as the person said above DON'T TOUCH THEM!!

My duck laid an egg which has a real little crack.. My female duck died on Sunday after laying the egg. I did not know she laid an egg and on on Tuesday I found the egg. Is it still alive?

It would still be viable but the crack in the egg will probably render it useless for hatching. Cracks in eggs allow bacteria and disease to enter the fertilized eggs and effect the viability. Most cracked eggs do not make it to full hatch.

Is an egg from a duck fertilized upon laying if a male is present and has mated with the female or does fertilization occur after laying?
