Want this question answered?
No, child support doesn't stop. Quitting school does not emancipate a minor.
Can someone answer this question for me?
No. It's a good first step, since it means you're more likely to be able to support yourself than if you're still in school, but it doesn't automatically emancipate you.
It depends on the language of the divorce order, but, in general, to be emancipated the child must be living on her own and self-supporting. If she's receiving TANF, you now owe this money to the State of Illinois.
No, that obligations is to the father of that unborn child. Also, once high school is completed your financial obligation for support ends.
Yes. It is the parents responsibility to provide support to a child until they are 18, or 19 and in school. If that child has given birth it is of no consequence in terms of child support unless the child was legally emancipated. Having a baby does not legally emancipate a minor.
no he can not aloud to do that no he can not aloud to do that
He already is emancipated since he is 18.
Depends on the state laws. Call a lawyer.
only if its in the divorce settlement. and if the child is out of school
Who is paying for the school? Is it a scholarship or a relative? As long as it is not the person required to pay child support it really doesn't matter. The child still needs clothes, uniforms, health insurance, all sorts of things. Sorry, you don't get out of paying child support based on where the kid goes to school.
At 18, you are no longer considered a child for child support purposes unless you have not graduated high school or are disabled. If the child is 18 and out of high school, you must contact the Texas AG to stop child support.
