Foxes prefer smaller game like rabbits, since a healthy adult deer would probably be too hard for a fox to kill. However a sick or injured deer, or a fawn might be a tempting target for a fox.
A red fox (approximately 15 pounds) and her young baby (approximately 7 pounds) killed a young deer (approximately 40 pounds) in our backyard yesterday. The two foxes have been foraging alongside the deer for two months in our yard ad took down the fawn at 4p.m. We were shocked and saddened. We live in Mendon, NY (Western, NY).
By all means yes! Male and female (vixens) foxes will eat baby deer if they can get past their mothers and close enough to them. They're surprisingly strong and will go for the throat and drag the dead fawn back to their dens.
A fox can't kill a moose, however it will eat any meat if it's dead.
Foxes are carnivores, meat eaters. A deer is meat. If a fox sees a chance, it'll try to eat deer.
No, no air rifle has a capablitay to kill a deer. The maruader is a great gun but it can only kill up to a rabbit or mabye a fox. If you try to shoot a deer with that it will charge at you or it will just shake it off.
They will eat deer meat if they find a kill by another animal. A fox is too small to kill a deer.possibly....they can snap they're necks and then start eating the deer 0.0 o.0 o.o 0.oyes they do
Fox are too small to even consider eating a deer. However, foxes are opportunists. If a fox found a dead deer, it would definitely eat some of it.
fox
Road kill is when a wild animal such as a fox or even a bird gets caught on the road and gets hit. Much of it is due to people throwing out trash. To a fox trash is nothing but, when a rabbit has been killed by a car, eating trash, then a fox will want to eat the rabbit. When the fox goes out there he is too busy eating to notice that another car has come. Since a fox is small it is hard for a car to see it so the it is usually to late for a fox to make a get away. What I find weird is that deer have been killed by cars before. So either when a deer is on the road that the drivers are ignorant or the people in the care don't even care there is a deer on the road. That is why sometimes in books or on tv or something like that you will hear "I looked like a deer caught in headlights".
yes a hit to the skull can kill a deer
No. Lions kill deer, not the other way around.

you shouldn't be trying to kill a deer!
None. Lions don't eat deer, though they are more than capable of killing them, and deer don't kill lions. Deer choose to run or get the heck out of there over killing a lion, no matter how large the herd of deer is!!
most probably a chicken can not kill a deer at least that's what i think
Fox hunting became popular in the 17th and 18th century. People navigated from deer hunting to fox because fox were considered vermin, and because there was a lack of deer to hunt as sport. People use dogs and horses to aid in the hunting of fox.
