I am not an expert, just a consumer. The "experts" all say no, but my experience says yes.
Someone driving my car rear ended an suv. My car is automatic transmission. Damaged the front pretty badly, but the car still drove. Immediately threw a CEL (check engine light) and would not shift properly.
CEL indicated 3 tranny codes, one being "2nd Gear Missing".
All the experts said no way was it related, but the car shifted and drove perfectly prior to the accident and afterwards it immediately failed to shift properly.
So I say, yes it can.
yes. rare but possible.
The oil pump is inside the engine. For a collision to damage the pump you would have an oil leak.

It could lead to it indirectly, but it won't be a direct cause.
could be steam from a leak caused by the accident in the coolant system or smoke from a transmission cooler leak they are both up in the front of the car.
It can.
A front is an unsettled area between two calmer air masses. It usually involves wind and frequently rain. High winds can cause damage.
If the impact was severe enough then the car metal structure could be forced forward enough to warp the hood or shift it out of alignment. A knock or bump is less likely to have this effect though.
Unfortunately, unless you have a police officer on scene on either the crash she caused, or the collision involving you, it's be near impossible to prove in court. Fortunately, most insurance companies have a low deductible but if you didn't want to involve the insurance company, I would have a conversation with her and pay for a percentage of the bumper, depending on how much damage you caused. You could get a mechanic involved and have him survey the damage that was done to your car and see if that had the kinetic power to cause the damage it had done to it. For example, if you have just a scratch and her bumper is up against her front frame, it's obvious the damage was pre-collision with you, but that requires her cooperation too. Good luck!
you can NOT tow any front wheel drive car flat. Damage to the transmission WILL occur.
Cause it is a front wheel drive vehicle.?
