If you have a brown anole it is usually severelly stressed which might have to do with other anoles it is living with, tempereature of habitat, food etc.
Actually, the OP could be referring to a consistently brown species such as a Bahaman anole.

∙ 13y agoyes there different colors are just to show what mood their in if their green there happy and relaxed if there brown there deppressed and are not that happy so yes a brown 1 and green 1 can mate
