yes i just went from a small bell housing to a large bell housing in my mustang it works. the flexplate motor plate and converter has to be used with that tranny.
Only if you swap out the transmission also. The 302 uses the small block bellhousing and the 400M uses the 351M, 400M 429, 460 bellhousing. Hope this helps..
It is the reservoir at the bottom of the tranny, a flanged 'pan', usually attached to tranny with multiple small bolts around its perimeter.
apparently it needs a new gasket or there is a small hole in the housing itself.
Yes, with a small amount of bellhousing/flywheel/clutch adjustment.
The 4cyl tranny can't be bolted up to the small block. You can use a tranny out of a V6 s10. If you're looking to put a manual into an auto you'll need the pedal assembly and linkage. That can be picked up from a junkyard.
Not without an adapter kit for the bellhousing. The 390 is a big block engine, the 302 is a small block.
Bolt spacing where the bellhousing mates to the back of the engine.
It won't be a "bolt in". It won't bolt up to the original motor mounts or transmission bellhousing but, with a few more parts and lots of $ you can make it work. All small blocks (283, 327 & 350) have the holes on the front of the block for the "59" motor mounts. The tranny mount would have to be fabricated. You might check chevychevy.com for adapters.
most any 1963 and up small or big block bellhousing will bolt up.
Small people have small spots, large people have large spots.
no oil ports and water are the problem
The could be large or small. The could be large or small.
