Possibly. The injured party would have to prove that the maid was negligent in her mopping duty. For example, if she failed to place the "wet floor" sign out, she may bear some responsibility. However, in this sort of situation, it is more common that the company for which the maid worked would be the targeted defendant in such a suit, for various reasons.
