Yes they can. I have 5 male bettas and 7 females and none of them has had any problems. Just make sure you have a big enough tank. I you are just going with one type you should go with female because they are more peaceful.
No, In my experience 2 males will fight until one of them is dead. If the tank is big enough for them both to establish territory and have a place to retreat to like 100-200 gallons the fish may be able to live together in one tank, fights will happen though and either of their lives will be in jeopardy near where their territory meets.
Only if you separate them so they do not see each other. Local pet shops should be able to give you some really good advice on products available in your area.
Most likely no!!!
No, you can't. In a large (10+ gallons) and densely planted aquarium, you can. But in smaller aquariums, they will fight for territory (since they are a territorial fish) until one flees. However, in small tanks, the loser will try to go away, but there is no place for him to go. The winner does not think he is going away and kills him. When two bettas meet, they flare and try to intimidate the other. Put a mirror in the aquarium, and you will see the same effect. The betta can be kept with every other fish (except for fin nippers) peacefully.
NO Just Dont Even Try!!!!
Bettas are best as a solitary fish and unless you are actually a breeder, it's best not to put two bettas together regardless of being male or female.
If your tank is big enough, you can have 2 bettas in the same tank provided you have an opaque tank divider so they have no way to get at or see each other
NO! Siamese fighting fish will fight to the death. females can be with other females, but males can Not be with any other Betta's. Neon tetras are nice for Betta's if you want other fish, but only if you have a two and a half gallon tank or more.
No, they seem to get agressi towards each other. Males and females may only be together for breeding purposes but should be watched carefully and taken with cation. I recommend them staying in separate tanks so not to cause fights and the death of one or the other. Please take the advice of a beta mom. Beta fish are territorial. Respect their Boundaries and conditions as us humans have lots of choices and respect they like privact and low contact with other fish.
Yes they can. But they will have babies and sometimes it is very hard to raise them.
Yes
NO.
Only female Bettas can be kept together. That too will only work if they are given reasonably roomy conditions and plenty of cover (plants) and hidey holes. Male betta fish can/ will fight to death if there is another male fish in the tank, a male will sometimes eat a female so your best bet is to have a single betta or a female and a female.
yes betta fish have to live alone or one will kill the other.
No. They do not belong together. The toad will foul the water for the Betta.
yes but do not pick fish that are soooo small like minnows because your betta will EAT HIM UP!
No, they can live alone or with other female bettas. They might bite each other but won't kill.
Male and female betta fish should not be kept in a tank together unless the tank is large enough for a female to escape attack, there is a partition or they are breeding. Males will kill the females. They are very aggressive and are not schooling fish.
Almost any kind of fish can live with a female betta, as long as they are close in size. Female bettas are not aggressive like males, so you should be able to put a few in the same tank without a problem
Sorry, type in: how do betta fish live?
Gold fish require water below 70F and Bettas require water above 75F so they should not be kept together.
No they'll kill each other
You can NOT keep female and male bettas together! Male bettas can get very aggressive and will fight to the death. Make sure to separate your bettas.
You mean betta fish, right? Betta fish cna lay eggs if you have two of the opposite gender in the same tank. If you have a male and female betta in one tank, they won't fight. If you have two females or two males, they will fight. So, you could see if they get allong. ig the bettas do lay eggs, they can still live together, but you MUST place tyhe eggs in a seperate tank, or they'll most likely be eatten. As for the lifecycle of a betta fish, if properly cared for, they can live for years. Two years is very old for some fish, but one man had a goldfish for 13 years!
