Yes it can
no the mom guinea pig will lick and eat the outside of the newborn guinea pig and you will not half to dry it or anything, if you watch a hamster or guinea pig giving birth on youtube or something or any animal you will not half to dry it the mom does all the work. trust me.
If a guinea pig far through its pregnancy and its handled to much it ma damge the babies and or the mom
No. The male guinea pig shouldn't be in the cage or otherwise he could make the female pregnant again once she's given birth. This is very dangerous. Also when the baby guinea pigs are 2-3 weeks you should put the boys with the dad and the girls with the mom. Not in the same cage though. Anyway, good luck!
no never but the male has to be seperate!
"mom, are you pregnant?"
To mate guinea pigs...1) the female HAS to be younger than ONE year of age2)you need to let the female get to know the male because the male (if dominant) will just go for it staight away!3)When th mother is pregnant you might want to take her to the vet once or twice just incase the is a problem with the mother (this may threaten her SUVIVAL)
As long as the male guinea pigs have been weaned they are ready to leave their mother, as you cannot keep a mother with her own male babies, because if they mate the babies that she has will have genetical problems. No you can't keep the two adult mothers together as when the babies are born they will try to feed off both mothers.
She is not pregnant and her mom was pregnant at one time
You take care of them like taking care of your pregnant wife exept more often. (but take care of it like an animal, not a woman) Leave it alone, but put it in a barn an let it rest an once its gonna give birth help it!!!
you can touch the newborn after the mother has cleaned it. don't pick it up or take it away from its mother for about 24 hours and after that never keep it more than a few minutes away from the mom.
in a nest:)
Its really simple. Step1: You get a male guinea pig. Step2: You get the female. Step3: You get them a NEW CAGE Step4: You put the male in first step5: You put the female in after. Step6: You leave them alone Step7: you watch them for a few days Step8: Once you think the female is pregnant, you take the male away and wait for your arrival. PS: My guinea pig gave birth without help in fact i didnt even konw it was giving birth and i have a healthy baby so if your guinea pig is going into labor don't freak out just let it do it its own way. They are born with eyes open hair and teeth so they CAN eat solids once born but they mostly feed off the mom for awhile before eating regular solid foods. i recommend giving the mom oranges and broccoli because guinea pigs need a good source of vitamin c Hope this helps :)
