No. So far the missiles they have are duds. They go up and then fizz out. I think they have a ways to go before they could reach the US.

Can North Korean nuclear ballistic missile reach us?

To reach the USA, North Korea would need to have an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) with a very high payload capacity. Notes indicate that the North Koreans have been working on ICBM development for at least 15 years, but so far their tests have apparently been unsuccessful. They may still be a few years away, but North Korea with ICBM capabilities should be considered a possibility in the future. While North Korea has also apparently tested a low-yield nuclear bomb, it is unclear if they have built a "warhead" that can be delivered via ICBM. The country may also be playing shell game, trying to make it appear as if their capabilities are more extensive and advanced than they actually are. If the political climate doesn't change, however, it wouldn't be surprising for them to have full nuclear ICBM capabilities by 2015 or 2020.

What motivation North Korea makes nuclear missile?

To intimidate & threaten.

Would placing missiles in both Japan and South Korea actually deter North Korean from launching a nuclear missile or would that move actually backfire?

It would have a null effect. Currently, the US Navy and US submarines are deployed around the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese archipelago. There are nuclear missiles within range of hitting North Korea. Any deterrence that having nuclear weapon on Japanese or Korean soil would have is the same as what is already being achieved.

What country would North Korea fire a missile at first?

North Korea would first launch a Nuclear Missile at South Korea, due to there past arguments. This would prompt the U.S to launch a missile, causing a nuclear war between communists and democracies.

Why was it so concerning that North Korea wanted to fire missiles?

The North Korean missile crisis was concerning for several reasons. First, there was the possibility of North Korea starting a nuclear war with the USA. Second, the problem with North Korea is that its leader is generally not in the best of mental stability.
